About Us

Traci’s maternal grandparents, Al and Mary Beyer had a dream
1967 – A cabin on a lake it would seem

A tiny cabin under ten grand
By a boat warehouse it did stand

Kathy (Traci’s mom), Carolyn, Tom, and Jim,
Rounded out the family and loved to swim

Beautiful sunsets on Okoboji Lake
Many trips they did take

The Queen Mary canoe was quite the thrill
A walk to Arnold’s Park didn’t break the till

Fifty cents at the Fun House to spend the whole day
Ten cent Skeeball they did play

The family grew and so did the cabin
Grandpa Al, Uncles Jim and Tom, designed and built a win

Then weddings came and cousins galore
Traci’s parents, Kathy and Doug added their four

Traci, Todd, Angie, Liz
At the Cart Ranch they were a whiz

Carolyn and family bought another place
Amelia and Megan loved the sailboat race

The boat warehouse became a place to shop
Mini donuts were first stop

Jim and Carol had Cassidy and Trent,
Off to the Sugar Shack they all went

Three generations enjoyed the scene
With red, white, and blue as our theme

Memorial Day, July4th, Labor Day and in between
Save the Park and Save the Queen

The years flew by-more weddings too
Many more cousins-it is true

Traci, Neal and kids – Codey and Cami Jo
Slushes, skiing, and Summer Theater Show

Todd and Tasha brought Karson, Savanah, and Colton
Nutty bars, Bug House, Ferris Wheel fun

Angie and Shawn added Logan, Seth, and Trevor
The Legend had them screaming for more

Liz and Matt topped it off with Maddy, Emily, and Cam
Fishing, fireworks, Bumper cars-fun for the fam

2007 brought the cabin for sale
We all hoped that it would fail

Thought we’d travel somewhere new
But the draw was great for Boji Blue

We looked for another cabin to satisfy all
Neal found a fixer upper-the order was tall

It was love at first sight-we worked hard
Dogs – Duke, Maggie, Lily, Mossy, and Oakley stood guard

Traditions continued-the family grew
Dimes became quarters-the boat was new

Our son Codey and Erica decided to wed
A wedding in Boji is what they said

Prenup on the Queen, vows on the beach
Dancing at the Majestic was fun for each

Soon we had Chloe Kaye join the fold
One more blessing as we grow old

The newest adventure is Traci and Neal’s
Blue Water Bungalows is such a deal

We’ve worked hard to share this life at the lake
Five generations of memories we did make

Come visit us-you won’t regret
We are friends you haven’t yet met

Grandpa Al Beyer in 1967 – Cabin was right next door to the Emporium
